Can Eega Withstand Barfi & Heroine?
It is a proud moment for all Telugu film lovers that 'Eega' got shortlisted for the final list that will be screened by Film Federation India to pick India's official entry for Oscar Awards. But the competition is not a cake walk for our movie.
Finally twelve films are selected by the Film Federation of India, which will be screened in Hyderabad from 18-26 September to pick India's official entry for Oscars under category 'Best Foreign Film'. However, the opponents are not so weak for 'Eega' to overcome. The list includes movies like The Dirty Picture, Kahaani, Barfi and Heroine. We have seen a numerous times that 'Best Foreign Film' Oscar generally goes to movies that have lot of emotions, realistic values and human relations. In that case, 'Eega' is more of a commercial film with high technical values of VFX but fails to score before 'Barfi' and 'Heroine' kind of films.
Let us wish 'Eega' will definitely get a chance to represent India at Oscars, though it seems tough!
