DSP's Fourth Take is Disappointing!
Devi Sri Prasad got his first big break with Nagarjuna's Manmadhudu. After that film DSP was noticed by the top directors and heroes. He even got a chance to compose music for Megastar's film. Later DSP composed music for Nagarjuna's Mass and King. 'Mass' songs were instant hit and helped the film to get good response from the masses.
King songs were not up to the mark, but were passable. Devi Sri Prasad has composed music to Nag's film for the fourth time with Damarukam. This time he has not done an impressive work. Despite being in good form with back to back hits like Gabbar Singh and Julayi, DSP disappointed with mediocre tunes.
Except for Shiva Shiva Sankara, none of the songs from this high budget flick are impressive. DSP is known for scoring foot tapping mass numbers. He is specialized in composing item numbers. But this time he failed utterly with 'Sakkubai' song which is a damp squib. We have to wait and see if these songs look better on screen. As of now this is one of DSP's weak albums.
