Mega Brother's revolution talk
Rudraveena, one of the very few path-breaking films of Telugu Cinema, has completed 25 Years Today. The film is a bold take on clash between age old practices and modern society.
Naga Babu who is the producer of this masterpiece shared the unknown details on the occasion of film's Silver Jubilee. The shooting of Rudraveena was wrapped up in 70 working days and the film costed him Rs 80 lakhs. It was released on March 4th, 1988. As the film lacks Chiru mark steps and dances, hardcore fans of the actor haven't been able to digest it but everyone who have seen it have appreciated the attempt. "Rudraveena is a revolution. I have made 8-9 films on my home banner, but still my first movie Rudraveena has given the satisfaction as a maker like no other flick," opines Mega Brother who asked Chiranjeevi to receive National award on behalf of Anjana Productions instead of him as a token gesture to his brother for acting in the film.
Rudraveena bagged three National awards, namely Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration, Best Music Director (Ilayaraja) and Best Male Playback Singer (SP Balu). It won four state awards including Best Actor for Chiranjeevi.
Few films are an experience - You learn a lot & You take them to home with you! Rudraveena fits into the same league!! Hats off to Chiru for risking his image to produce a classic!!!
