NTR keeps his promise

It's now the season of writers-turning-directors in Tollywood and another new entrant in the list is Vakkantham Vamsi of 'Ashok' and 'Oosaravelli' fame. This star writer has hit a jackpot in the first attempt by getting the nod from none other than Jr NTR.

Apparently, NTR asked the writer to come up with a good script two years ago for launching him as director and it took a while for everything to fall in place. As the actor is currently working for Harish Shankar's Ramayya Vastavayya and will be joining the shoot of Santosh Srinivas's Rabasa in September, Vamsi will have to wait for another six more months to begin the filming of his dream project.

As per the insiders, NTR has just kept his promise of doing everything he can to Vamsi by signing his directorial debut as a gratitude to his honest contribution for films 'Ashok' and 'Oosaravelli'.

The success of Koratala Siva (Mirchi fame) as director has given a big boost for the celebrated writers in the Industry. Kona Venkat, Gopimohan and Vakkantham Vamsi will be entering a new phase soon. It's a welcome trend in Telugu Film Industry and let's be positive!
