Rang De On OTT: Nithiin Has No Objection

After a gap of almost 6 months since the lockdown, the shooting for Nithiin’s Rang De resumed yesterday in Hyderabad amidst all the necessary safety measures. Even though the team had initially planned to shoot a few crucial scenes in a foreign country, director Venky Atluri had reworked on the script and will now wrap up the entire shoot in Hyderabad due to the pandemic.

Meanwhile, the film’s producer Naga Vamsi has been planning to skip the theatrical release and go for a direct OTT release instead. And Nithiin has not expressed any sort of objection to his producer’s plans.

Nithiin shares a close rapport with Naga Vamsi, as his banner Sithara Entertainments had given him super hits like A..Aa and Bheeshma. So, Nithiin told Naga Vamsi to go ahead with any decision that is profitable for him.

Meanwhile, Zee5 app is said to have offered a cool Rs 36 crore to acquire Rang De’s exclusive rights. While this is a very good deal for a Nithiin-starrer, there is no provision for satellite rights and Hindi dubbing rights, which also generate a lot of revenue for the producer.

Apparently, Naga Vamsi is keen on inking the deal if Zee5 offers him Rs 2 crore in addition to the Rs 36 crore offer. The negotiations are currently underway in full swing. Rang De’s entire shoot will be completed by October end, and more clarity will emerge by that time.
