IPL 2020: Shikhar Dhawan Scored Two Consecutive Centuries

Shikhar Dhawan is one of the unsung heroes of Indian Premier League. Even though he made more than 5000 runs in his IPL career, no one recognizes him as a star batsman. Still, Dhawan continues to be in a great form and silences his critics every now and then. Now, he achieved a unique feat and carved a niche for himself. Dhawan is the only cricketer to score two back to back centuries in IPL’s history.

Dhawan scored his first IPL ton a couple of days back, against Chennai Super Kings. His unbeaten 106 has helped his team to win against Chennai. Dhawan continued his superb form last night as well. While the other batsmen were struggling to play, he cruised off to another century against Kings XI Punjab. This time, Dhawan scored a 100 in just 57 balls. He smashed 12 fours and three sixes in his inning.

If Dhawan would have got enough support from his partners, Delhi could have posted a big total on the scoreboard. The lack of intent from the other batters and the lone fight from Dhawan made Delhi post a total of 164. Kings XI Punjab chased the total in 19 overs and won the match. Even though Delhi lost the game, Dhawan proved his worth once again and grabbed the eyeballs of the Indian selection committee.
