6 Pack Band: India’s First Transgender Music Band

Music is the one true universal language of human species as it elevates us to new heights and transcends racial/cultural/geographical barriers with ease. The new music band called ‘6 pack band’ has proved the same. 6 pack band is India’s first unique music group comprising of a group of transgenders.

The band consists of six talented people- Fida Khan, Ravina Jagtap, Asha Jagtap, Chandni Suvarnakar, Komal Jagtap and Bhavika Patil and the band was launched in 2016. People are getting connected with the band’s music as five songs have been released by them and received accolades from fans. Not only fans but also biggies like Hrithik Roshan, Sonu Nigam, Arjun Kapoor and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan have featured on their singles as a token of love.

All these celebrities have been supporting the band and singer Sonu Nigam has particularly stated that this unique band with forever be the ‘game-changer’ in the music industry. In spite of the transgender community have all the rights that an Indian citizen has, they have been bullied, endured hate speeches and left unemployed out of discrimination.

But on a progressive note, the 6 Pack Band has emerged as a forerunner for transgender inclusivity and justice. However, one must know that this amazing band did not emerge just like that. They had to face all the sufferings and ill-treatment from society before they could make a mark in the country.

Music has no language, religion or race.; all it does is lowers stress and brings happiness. It is that release that frees you from your earthly worries and pains completely even if only for a moment. And, 6 pack band just proved that the community has a lot to offer for the world.
