Sachin Bats Against Rihanna & Greta, Other Celebs Follow

International Pop star Rihanna and Greta Thunberg tweeted solidarity for India’s farmers’ protest yesterday. A good number of international celebrities expressed their word of support after Rihanna’s tweets. While some Indian actors like Kangana Ranaut came out slamming Rihanna with ‘Sit down you fool’ and calling farmers as ‘terrorists’, some other supporters of farm laws started trending ‘#GretaThunbergExposed’ after she deleted the tweet.

On the same day, a fresh campaign in the country started from a set of film celebrities and Cricket players of India. The campaign says ‘India against propaganda’ which also trends with #IndiaTogether on social media.

Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar to Ravi Shastri and Akshay Kumar to Ajay Devgan, popular stars and highly influencing celebrities came up with similar tweets with the same hashtags, against the foreign celebrities’ farmer-protest solidarity tweets.

Sachin Tendulkar wrote, “India’s sovereignty cannot be compromised. External forces can be spectators but not participants. Indians know India and should decide for India. Let’s remain united as a nation. #IndiaTogether #IndiaAgainstPropaganda.”

Similar tweets from Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Ravi Shastri, Hardik Pandya, and Rohit Sharma followed.

From film celebrities, Akshay Kumar wrote:”farmers constitute an extremely important part of our country. And the efforts being undertaken to resolve their issues are evident. Let’s support an amicable resolution, rather than paying attention to anyone creating differences. #IndiaTogether #IndiaAgainstPropaganda.”

Many others like Suneil Shetty, Ajay Devgan, Lata Mangeshkar tweeted something similar. The hashtag #IndiaAgainstPropaganda has been trending across India on top and there are many who are tweeting that the government is forcing the celebrities to tweet against foreign celebrities who are coming in support of farmers’ protest.
