The glacier burst in Uttarakhand on Sunday has resulted in 18 deaths and 200 missing. The Indian Army is continuing the rescue operations despite the challenging conditions in this mishap. However, the real cause of this burst is yet to be known. From ISRO to DRDO, multiple agencies are investigating this case.
But here is a picture of ‘Before and After’ the mishap of 12-foot high and 15-foot wide tunnel at Tapovan in Chamoli. The first picture shows, the construction is more than half done while the second picture shows only the walls of the tunnel while the mud is filled till its peak.
The glacier burst has also caused flash floods and some 2,500 people in 13 villages have been evacuated by the authorities.
