South African all-rounder Chris Morris has created a history in IPL auctions that are underway in Chennai right now. He has become the most expensive buy in the history of IPL auctions. Rajasthan Royals bought him for a whopping amount of Rs. 16.25 crores and made him achieve this feat.
Royals faced intense bidding war with the likes of Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings. Finally, they have managed to get an upper hand over others. There are no other players who can break this record in this ongoing auction of 2021. Morris had earlier played for IPL franchises like Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals.
Morris is a big-hitter of the ball and a good death bowler as well. His impressive outing in the 2020 season may have made RR go for him for such a big price. However, Morris is a highly injury-prone player and we have to see if he manages to play an entire season this year.
