Anil Ravipudi Reveals The Story Of ‘Gaali Sampath’

‘Gaali Sampath’, starring Rajendra Prasasd and Sri Vishnu as a father and a son, is directed by Anish. Ahead of the film’s release on March 11, Anil Ravipudi has revealed the premise of the emotional comedy-drama. He is the film’s presenter, screenplay-writer as well as its directorial supervisor.

The story of the film was birthed by S Krishna, who has worked in the writing department of Anil Ravipudi’s previous movies. Since the ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru’ director loved the story, he decided to pen its screenplay.

Explaining the title of the movie, Anil Ravipudi has said, “Ever since I listened to the story, I was haunted by it. There have been several interpretations about the word ‘Gaali’ in the title. People are under the assumption that Rajendra Prasad’s character is good-for-nothing in the movie and that’s why the title. That’s not the case. His character meets with an accident and loses his voice. Since he can’t speak and, when he tries to speak, only air comes out from his mouth, he is called ‘Gaali’ (air in Telugu) by everyone.”

The second half is going to be superb with emotions running high. “The titular character gets trapped in a pit 30ft deep under. How he gets saved is the crux of the second half. This is the magical part of the film,” Ravipudi said. There are beautiful emotions between the father-son duo, he added.

Interestingly, Nata Kireeti’s character speaks in a new ‘language’ in the movie. Just as ‘Baahubali’ had Kalakeya speak in the Kilikili language, in ‘Gaali Sampath’, Rajendra Prasad’s character speaks in the ‘Fififi’ language. Situational comedy has been built around this.

S Krishna is producing this film on Image Spark Entertainment banner and Shine Screens.
