Whereas it is official that Chiyaan Vikram's son Dhruv has stepped into the shoes of Vijay Deverakonda in the Tamil remake of 'Arjun Reddy', titled 'Varma', makers are very tight lipped about the film's leading lady.
The latest reports suggest that like they have roped in a star hero's son to play the hero, makers of 'Varma' have signed a former heroine's daughter to play the female lead. The girl in news is, former heroine Gauthami's daughter, Subbalakshmi. An official confirmation from the makers is awaited though.
There have been reports from past two years or so about Gauthami's efforts to launch her daughter. 'Arjun Reddy' remake is quite a potential opportunity for Subbalakshmi, of course if she is bold enough to enact the raw romantic scenes.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Bala, the shooting of 'Varma' is currently progress at brisk pace in Nepal. Dhruv's look from the film, with a fully-grown beard, has recently gone viral on social media.
'Varma' reminds us of Telugu film 'Josh', which marked the debut of an established hero, Nagarjuna's son, Naga Chaitanya and a former heroine, Radha's daughter, Karthika.
