Naveen Polisetty needs no introduction. His very first film as hero Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya was a super hit and his Bollywood debut film Chhichhore too was a big hit. His third film Jathi Ratnalu will be releasing tomorrow. Meanwhile, Naveen shared interesting aspects of the film during his interaction with scribes.
Who approached you first for Jathi Ratnalu?
When I was busy with Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya shooting, Nag Ashwin asked me to listen to a story. Anudeep narrated me the story and I loved to wholly. After Agent, I wanted to do something different and was actually waiting for a complete hilarious script. Fortunately, I’ve got one in form of Jathi Ratnalu.
How different is your character in Jathi Ratnalu from Agent?
The character of Jogipet Srikanth in Jathi Ratnalu is exactly 180’ opposite to my role as Srinivasa Athreya in my last film. I loved the sense of humor and comedy in the story. After, Rahul and Priyadarshi joined, Jathi Ratnalu became a dream project.
Who according to you are real Jathi Ratnalu?
Jathi Ratnalu is actually a satire on the ream meaning of the title. However, my producers Nag Ashwin and Swapna Dutt are the real Jathi Ratnalu. They are giving opportunities to many budding actors and technicians like me. It will change fate of an actor, if they work under a prestigious banner like Vyjayathi and Swapna Cinema. By the time, they approached me for Jathi Ratnalu, Agent didn’t yet release.
How was it working with Anudeep KV?
Anudeep is an easy going person and I used to torture him every day. I used to go to bed only after he sends me script paper every day. I have this habit of preparing for my scenes a day before the shoot. Anudeep used to okay shots in single takes, but I requested him for 2 to 3 versions.
Will Jathi Ratnalu release in Hindi?
Yes, my producers are planning to dub and release it in Hindi. If dubbing is not possible, then at least subtitles will be used for Hindi version.
Naveen informed that he wants to work with star directors like Rajamouli Raj Kumar Hirani, Zoya Akhtar, Shankar, Sukumar, Trivikram etc.
