How Different Is Sreekaram From Maharshi?

After a long time after Shatamanam Bhavati, Sharwanand will be seen in a rustic guy role in Sreekaram which is also a wholesome family entertainer like Satish Vegesna’s directorial. Like never before, Sharwanand is promoting the film aggressively. A pre-release and a grand release event of the film were held in presence of Chiranjeevi and KTR respectively. Meanwhile, Sharwa hopes that Sreekaram will become one of the most memorable films in his career.

What made you to sign the film?
I really loved the concept of farmer’s son taking up farming as his profession. He resigns an IT job and his decision surprises even his father.

How different is Sreekaram from Maharshi?
Maharshi is about weekend farming. But, this film questions why this generation is not taking up farming. Moreover, you will see a wonderful love story of son and father in the film.

Even farmers are giving up doing agriculture. Can the current generation bring change?
Technology is going to change so fast. The total system will change in next five years or so. Sreekaram will also discuss about how we can withstand, without even taking the help of governments.

How tough it was making this film in a commercial way?
Narrating the story in a commercial way is a big task. Shataman Bhavati line also sounds silly. But, narrating it in a convincing manner makes it an interesting watch.

What inspires the protagonist transforming from a software employee to a farmer?
He doesn’t transform all of the sudden. He has this passion for farming since his childhood.

What changes the film brought in you?
When the film’s shoot was in the midway, lockdown was announced due to corona pandemic. I went to my farmhouse with just a tent and spent more than three months there. If I quit acting, I will go to my farmhouse and do agriculture there.

Sharwanand also informs Sreekaram is a safe project for producers. “The film was made on moderate budget. It would have been a profitable venture, had we released it on OTT as well,” says he.
