A well knit tale, the story begins with Shiva (Karthi) who is a cool guy and believes in taking life by the day. He has an affectionate family in the form of his father (Jayaprakash), a cab driver, mom (Lakshmi) and a doting sister (Neelima). Shiva's life changes when he sees Priya (Kajal) at a wedding and falls in love with her. Things get even better when Priya's father (Raviprakash) says yes to their relationship. However, the story takes a turn when Shiva's father gets killed by a gang. This changes the cool Shiva into a rather serious person seeking revenge on the killers. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.
Karthi has come up with an excellent performance by portraying the cool and the angry side in him perfectly. Kajal Agarwal is a seductive doll and she makes her presence felt. Jayaprakash Reddy was matured, Lakshmi was natural, Soori brought few smiles, Raviprakash was regular, Neelima was natural, Rajivan was alright. The others did their bit as required and added value to the film.
* Karthi-Kajal screen chemistry
* Two Songs and Background Score
* Routine Storyline
* Second Half will get mixed reactions
* No Nativity
* Pace of the film
As such, the film happens to be the dubbed version of the Tamil movie 'Naan Mahaan Alla' and despite the fact that the original came about an year ago, the Telugu version will find takers. Ideally, it is the deft handling of the script and the comedy quotient during the first half which gives good momentum. Though the second half is quite serious and few scenes might disturb the audience, the overall feel has been nice. Credit must be given to the technical departments for giving a visually appealing treat. At the box office, commercial success looks very likely.
Verdict: Simple Yet Entertaining!
