Rajasthan Royals finally won a game after losing four matches in a row. It was that man, Rahul Tewatia, who once again gave them this victory. He, along with another young batsman Riyan Parag, dragged RR from the clutches of the defeat and won the match for them by 5 wickets against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and chose to bat first. This time, they failed to get a good opening partnership as Jonny Bairstow got out in the fifth over. But, David Warner (48) and Manish Pandey (54) took the scoreboard slowly and played with patience. Finally, Warner got out in the 15th over while trying for a big shot. Soon, Pandey completed his half-century. During the death overs, Kane Williamson and Priyam Garg showed some spark and helped SRH to score a total of 158/4.
Once again, Rajasthan Royals faltered in scoring such a chasable total. Their star batsmen Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes and Steve Smith got out inside the power play. When they have a job to do, Robin Uthappa and Sanju Samson also fell without making any impact.
Then, Rahul Tewatia (45) and Riyan Parag (42) took responsibility and finished the things for Rajasthan. They started playing slowly and shifted their gears in the death overs. SRH bowlers were clueless in the backend of the innings. Eventually, Rajasthan scored 163/5 in 19.5 overs. Sunrisers Hyderabad will next play against Chennai Super Kings on October 13. Rajasthan will take on Delhi Capitals on October 14.
