Modi’s Speech: Don’t Be Reckless During Festival Season

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s much-awaited speech to the nation has turned out to be a damp squib. While the media had speculated that Modi would make a crucial statement about Covid-19 vaccine and stages of administration and the government’s plan of execution, Modi asked the people to be careful in the wake of the coming festival season. He however said the government has measures in place. He said India has about 90 lakh beds for the Covid treatment.

The PM asked the people to wear masks and maintain social distance without fail. He said the Covid-19 cases have come down and appreciated the health, medical workers and sanitation staff for their continuous efforts. He, however, cautioned the people about the re-surface of cases in countries like America and Europe.

Modi said people should not roam without wearing masks. He asked people to not put their family members, elders and kids in family at risk. In the 13-minute-long speech, the Prime Minister hasn’t made any surprise announcements. This is a bit disappointing to people who expected big from Modi’s address to the nation.
