India-US 2+2 Ministerial Defence Talks Turned Fruitful

The Stage has set for signing the resolution of Indo-US Basic Exchange and Cooperation Agreement (BECA) in the third round of 2+2 ministerial dialogue between two countries on Tuesday.

US Defence Secretary Mark Esper and state secretary Mike Pompeo met Prime Minister Narendra Modi today in New Delhi. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval also participated in the talks. A “significant achievement” of signing the (BECA) and to other phenomenal extensions in partnership against “threats” made by China. Chiefs from both the nation’s acclaim the two-day visit of America’s senior officials to India as a “victory”. Advancing of the 2+2 talks, Doval also met Esper and Pompeo.

Earlier, the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised the progression of the military alliances as “healthy”. He said that within two days, both US and India have “explored the functional scope of the building. At the other end collaboration activities in other countries combining with the neighbourhood.” Mr.Singh even praised the signing of ( BECA ) as the “significant achievement”.

While External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar praised the two-day Indo-US 2+2 ministerial talks as “productive days”. During addressing the joint statement, Jaishankar said that “The main focus” of the conversations meant on Indo-Pacific and the leaders reemphasised the need for peace and stability. He also “made it clear” about the cross border terrorism is “completely unacceptable.”

Apart from the geographic issues, Mr Jai Shankar has noted that talks have covered the growth in neighbouring countries. “When India acquires the status of a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, we are ready to work with the United States. While addressing the expansion in agreement he also praised the ‘remarkable growth’ in the mutual relations between both nations. He repeated, “What is important is that India US collaboration can be a force of good. It is strategic and comprehensive.” He ended.
