Lockdown In France: 700 KMs Traffic Jam In Paris

The second wave of Covid-19 has hit many European nations badly, especially Germany and France. With the rising cases, the governments of respective countries have lockdown with immediate effect.

In France, as and when the lockdown was imposed, people packed their bags and headed to their respective villages. This has caused a huge problem as Paris, the capital of France witnessed 700 kilometres of traffic jam in the city and its outskirts. A visual of the traffic jam is now going viral on social media.

Surprisingly this is not for the first time. When the lockdown was imposed back in March, a similar incident was reported across Paris. The officials should have made adequate measures at least before the announcement of the second wave and ensure free movement of traffic in and out of Paris.

The French capital has over 21 Lakh population and over 12 Lakh people are migrants who work in various industries. On Thursday, France has reported 47,000 new cases and the government was left with no other option rather than to impose lockdown.
