Was Dasara Celebrated In Any Police Station, Asks GVL

BJP Rajya Sabha member G.V.L. Narasimha Rao, who seemed to be soft towards the YCP government in the past clarifying that the Centre would not intervene in the issue of the capital for Andhra Pradesh, made some sensational comments against the same government this afternoon.

He said that if one surgical strike was made in Telangana, then two should be made in Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking to mediapersons in Tirupati, the BJP MP fumed at the Christmas celebrations held in a police station. “It is as if the government itself is heading the religious propaganda,” he said.

“Was Dasara celebrations held any year in the police station,” he asked and asserted that both the parties, hinting at the ruling YCP and the Opposition TDP, would be taught a lesson in the Tirupati bypolls.

The BJP leader said that there was Centre’s contribution in the development of Andhra Pradesh and added that all the investment came from the Modi-led BJP government.

He demanded that both the TDP and the YCP list out the development works taken up by them during their respective rule, during their electioneering in Tirupati. He accused political parties of branding themselves as ‘secular’ but resorting to vote bank politics in reality.

The statements by GVL that the Centre had no role in deciding the location and number of capitals for a state were inferred to be in favour of the three-capital formula mooted by Jagan-led YCP government in Andhra Pradesh.
