Tirupati by-poll: CM Kiran & Co. struggle for deposit
CM Kiran Kumar Reddy and his men are sweating out to save their face in the Tirupati by-poll. Surprisingly, their struggle is not for the victory, but to get atleast the deposit.
CM Kiran's younger brother Kishore Kumar Reddy is monitoring the by-poll campaign in the constituency. The main focus is on putting an end to the internal disputes in the party. Senior minister Galla Aruna Kumari is unhappy with the leadership for not selecting her son Jaydev as the party candidate. She even skipped the party meeting in Tirupati, which was attended by key leaders in the district. On the other hand, the former PRP Leaders who aspired for party ticket were staying away from party activities for sometime now.
Despite being the constituency of Chiranjeevi, the chances of winning here looks bleak for Congress. In 2009, the actor-turned-politician won the poll with a slight margin against Congress candidate Bhumana Karunakar Reddy. But the political equations have changed after YSR's death. While Jagan floated YSR Congress, Chiru merged his party with Congress for vested interests. Even if Chiru contests here again, there is no guarantee of winning. Don't be surprised, if the betting were on the losing margin of PRP candidate!
