The senior Telugu Desham party leader and Andhra Pradesh minister for finance, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu has come under the fire after the state govt's order to release a claim of Rs 2.88 lakh for his root canal treatment in Singapore came out in public.
In response to the medical bills submitted by the minister's personal secretary, the government has issued a GO on August 23. Later, it was sent to chief executive officer of NTR Vaidyaseva Trust in Guntur where the officials verified and declared to release claims. The GO issued by govt secretary notifies that these claims can be sanctioned to the minister as 'Medical Reimbursement/Advances'.
But, this medical reimbursement has erupted a controversy as how a minister in Andhra Pradesh can get treatment for root canal problem in Singapore by ignoring the hospitals in AP. Opposition parties YSR Congress and Jana Sena are launching strong attack against Yanamala who is yet to offer an explanation in this regard.
However, a TDP spokesperson clarified that Yanamala booked an appointment for his treatment in a Hyderabad hospital. But, he had to travel to Singapore as part of his duty. During his trip, the minister suffered a serious pain in his teeth and had undergone the root canal trearment there.
