Ticket Politics : Bonthu Upset, Skips GHMC Meet

With the formal announcement of 105 TRS candidates for the coming general elections, GHMC Mayor Bonthu Ram Mohan, who was aspiring for Uppal Assembly constituency, is reportedly very upset that his name was not featured in the list.

KCR has finally voted for the sitting candidate Bethi Subhash Reddy which hasn't gone down well with Bonthu Ram Mohan who had also been working in Uppal constituency. Soon after the names were announced by KCR, Bonthu said to have gone into oblivion. He even skipped the GHMC standing committee meeting. With the absence of the Mayor, one of the members of the Standing Committee has acted as the Chairman for the meet.

Bonthu had been working in Uppal upon the guidelines of the party seniors. However, Bonthu hasn't given up his hopes yet and is said to be still trying for the Uppal seat. Bonthu's followers aver that there is a chance for the change in the candidates.

Weak Candidates in Old City

Meanwhile, reports are rife that TRS has fielded weak candidates in the Old City. Analysts point that this is in order to make things easy for the MIM candidates in the region. In the yesterday's list of candidates announced by KCR, he also declared little-known candidates for Yakathpura, Chandrayanagutta, Karwan,  Bahdurpura  and Nampally where MIM plays dominant role.

KCR has also stated that TRS is 100 percent secular and there is no chance for the party to have an alliance with the BJP clearly indicates KCR's friendly alliance with the Owaisi's Majilis Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) party.
