I'm not a Director or Chairman of Jagathi: Jagan

In a surprise move, YSR Congress chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy stated that he is neither the director nor the chairman of Jagathi publications, to avoid Enforcement Directorate's (ED) custody.

It may be recalled that the ED filed a petition in CBI court few days back seeking the custody of Jagan to question him over the hawala transactions and the funds flown into Jagathi Publications violating the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) and PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) laws.

Jagan's counsel filed a counter petition in the CBI court saying that since his client is in jail for the past few days, he had no knowledge about the happenings in the companies. He argued that FEMA and PML rule are not applicable for Jagan and ED's petition seeking his clients costody is invalid. The next hearing of the case was posted to July 6.
