Olympics: Narang opens medal count for India

Ace shooter Gagan Narang opened the medal count for India by cinching at the bronze medal in the Men's 10-Metre Air Rifle event of London Olympics 2012.

Narang shot 103.1 in a ten-shot finals with a total score of 701.1 to finish third in the final. In the final round, he had a series of 10.7, 9.7, 10.6, 10.7, 10.4, 10.6, 9.9, 9.5, 10.3 and 10.7. He scored 598 in the qualifying round and in that too he stood third.

Gold medal in this category was won by Moldoveanu Alin George (Romania) with total score of 702.1 and World No.1 Niccolo Campriani (Italy) with total score of 701.5 has to settle for second place (Sillver) in the final this time.

Narang will be competing in two more events (50m Rifle 3-Position on August 3rd & 50m Rifle prone on August 6th) at the London Olympics. Congratulate the champion for bringing India it's first medal and wish him to win more to make Indians proud.
