Lakshman Gets A Bouncer From High Court

Convicted BJP senior Leader Bangaru Lakshman has got a bouncer from Delhi high court today. He is currently counting bars in Tihar jail for accepting bribes in a fictitious defence deal by Tehelka journalists.

Former BJP President Bangaru Laxman's bail plea is rejected by HighCourt today but has given him a chance for another hearing on August 14th. Laxman's counsel appealed to court that he is induced into committing crime. They cited his age as a concern before requesting the court to grant bail. From April 28th, the senior leader is lodged in Tihar jail and he is now using Dalit card in Court to scout free.

Earlier, Tehelka journalists have conducted a sting operation by facing Laxman as representatives of an arms company and asked him for favours. To close the deal, the BJP leader took 10 lakhs from them for facilitating government contracts. Though Laxman cried foul on Tehelka, the court found him guilty and convicted him.
