Mallika's Death Sentence Cancelled
Karnataka high court has cancelled off the death sentence awarded to one women serial killer 'Cyanide Mallika'. The court has reduced this sentence to life imprisonment along with 10k rupees fine.
Mallika, who hails from a village in Karnataka, has killed six women in the past decade by poisoning them with cyanide. It took years for police to catch this killer before booking her in 2007. In 2009 a fast track court has awarded her death sentence for allegedly killing innocent woman in order to rob their ornaments and cash. As the case is not falling under rarest of the rare category, HC has reduced her death sentence to life.
This serial killer is still a nightmare in the borders of Karnataka-Andhra when some mysterious women wander around the temples. Mallika used to pose as a staunch devotee before befriending her victims and killing them.
