Indian Girls Dominating Men In Smoking
This might sound alarming but a recent study revealed that women are having upper hand over their male counterparts when it comes to smoking cigarettes. In all aspects, except the number of people smoking, women top the charts.
While the most number of smokers are from men, it is women who are smoking most number of cigarettes in a day. Indian female smoker puffs 7 cigarettes a day, while male stands at 6. These female tobacco users are adapting to smokeless forms of cigarette unlike men, where the majority prefers smoke. Men are starting their smoke at an average age of 18.8 years, while women are doing that from 17.5 years. All these findings are revealed by a global tobacco use survey published in medical journal the Lancet. Surprisingly the 'quit ratio' in India is not so good, taking a blow on health of individuals. The use of cigarettes is dipping in men, while it is raising like a tsunami among women.
Both men and women should realize the necessity of quitting tobacco, in order to build a healthy society. These figures are alarming not only for smokers but for the kin and kith of smokers too.
