Is Jagan ready for 8 percent to Reddys?
PCC Chief Botsa Satyanarayana came up with a new proposal to irk the YSR Congress and TDP which has been claiming about allotment of 100 seats for BCs in 2014 polls to win their hearts. He demanded Vijayamma and Chandrababu to agree for his proposal of allotting seats to all the castes across the states based on their population percentage, if they are committed to political empowerment of BCs.
As per Botsa's proposal, out of 294 Assembly seats in AP - 45 percent goes for BCs, 33 percent to OCs (15 percent to Kapus, 8 percent to Reddys, 5 percent to Kammas and the remaining 5 percent for others), 7 percent for Minorities.
If YSR Congress accepts this proposal, only 8 percent of seats will be given to Reddys (who are a backbone for Jagan) in the next general elections. Is Yuva Neta ready to do that and face the ire of his own community?
On the other hand, TDP was pushed to defensive mode with this new proposal as accepting it will force it to allot only 5 percent seats for Kammas. Botsa has got Two Birds in One Shot!
