Corona: AP Lorry driver infects 24 by playing rummy

With more than 1000 plus positive coronavirus cases in Andhra Pradesh, the natives are panic-stricken with the fear of rapid growth. Kurnool has registered the highest number of cases with more than 275. And the death toll is 9 so far. In Vijayawada, Krishna district also, the cases are increasing and the latest case of a lorry driver in Vijayawada is causing anxiety among the locals.

A lorry driver from Krishna Lanka area in Vijayawada was tested positive for COVID 19 and he unintentionally played rummy and tambola with neighbours leaving more than 24 people infected.

It is said that the driver went to Kolkata on some work where he is believed to be contracted with the novel virus. Today nearly 20 cases have reported for the same area when the drive resides in and the district has been declared as a high alert by the authorities.

It is predicted by the health officials that the cases might increase more by tonight. However, precautionary measures have been taken. The positive cases in Andhra today are from Nuzvid- 2, Jaggayapeta- 2, New Rajiv Nagar- 1, Gopavaram – 1 and Vijayawada main city- 1. Today, Gurrala Veera Raghavaiah Street in Vijayawada alone reported 12 positive cases, leaving its locals in fear.
