After Disinfectant Jibe, Trump Blames Media

After his disinfectant jibe has gone viral, US president Donald Trump has blamed media. A day after suggesting that Americans should dose themselves with disinfectant, Trump and his task force held an unusually short briefing on Friday, running about 22 minutes where he walked out of the press briefing. On Saturday, Trump has stayed away from his usual briefing. This is for the first time since Easter weekend, US president didn’t hold a press conference at the White House with the Corona Virus Task Force. This indicates that there could be decrease in Trump’s appearances in the coming days.

While his remarks of disinfectant during his Thursday briefing went viral, Trump blamed media. He lashed out at media and alleged that they ask hostile questions. Dubbing as “lamestream” media, he further accused media of refusing to report the “truth or facts accurately”. He concluded saying the media conferences on Corona are not worth his “time and effort”.

Taking to Twitter, Donald Trump vented out his frustration on media. He tweeted, “Was just informed that the Fake News from the Thursday White House Press Conference had me speaking & asking questions of Dr. Deborah Birx. Wrong, I was speaking to our Laboratory expert, not Deborah, about sunlight etc. & the CoronaVirus.

The Lamestream Media is corrupt & sick!” In another tweet, he wrote, “What is the purpose of having White House News Conferences when the Lamestream Media asks nothing but hostile questions, & then refuses to report the truth or facts accurately. They get record ratings, & the American people get nothing but Fake News. Not worth the time & effort!”
