Superstar Rajinikanth has criticised the Tamil Nadu state government for its intervention in the movie 'Sarkar.'
This is for the first time Rajini has openly come out in support of a movie. He took it on his official Twitter handle and wrote that "When the censor board has cleared the film, holding protests and demanding for removal scenes is against the law. I condemn this act."
Since the beginning 'Sarkar' is surrounded by sea of controversies. The ruling AIADMK party members who are part of the state cabinet threatened the makers of 'Sarkar' to take legal action if the objectionable scenes are not removed with immediate effect.
Bowing down to the pressure, the makers of 'Sarkar' have accepted to mute the dialogue which refers to late CM Jayalalithaa. However, Sun Picture is yet to make an official statement regarding the same.
Like the superstar, universal hero Kamal Haasan too came in support of 'Sarkar' movie. He too tweeted that a government that can't accept criticism can go off the tangent.
