Police USA

Former officer, Derek Chauvin who is now one of the most hated person in the world for his way below the belt behaviour with blacks and for glorifying racism on duty. He was fired by the Minneapolis Police Department and charged under third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter for kneeling on the neck of 46-year-old George Floyd for nearly 8 minutes befor he died.

Mr.Chauvin, who worked for the Minneapolis Police Department for more than 18 years, has once worked as security in a nightclub where late George Floyd also worked. Both men worked at the El Nuevo Rodeo club where Floyd worked some Tuesday and Chauvin worked as an off-duty police officer for the club for nearly 17 years.

On the other hand, Chauvin’s wife, Kellie, who married Chauvin 10 years ago, filed for a divorce after the incident. It is reported that Kellie is devastated after watching the disturbing video and she paid her sympathies to Floyd’s family. She also requested for a name-change in her surname and the titles to both of their homes. She asked for an equal division of their shared vehicles and bank accounts as she said she won’t require spousal support anymore.

Kellie makes an independent income as a Realtor and she is also Mrs. Minnesota 2018, a pageant for married Minnesotans. Right now, the protests from all corners of the world demanded justice for Floyd and accountability for Chauvin. As the latter is due to appear in court in a few days, it is shocking to learn that Chauvin had 18 prior complaints against him. Most of these complaints is in regard to his “demeaning tone” and “derogatory language”.

Chauvin received oral reprimands as well. Another former officer Tou Thao, who was also involved in Floyd’s arrest, had six complaints filed with internal affairs. Currently, Chauvin is being kept at Oak Park Heights state prison, the highest custody level in the Minnesota corrections system.
