Kangana Booked In A Criminal Case At Karnataka Court

Kangana Ranaut, who has been fuming at the Bollywood bigwigs on nepotism and casting couch, was booked in a criminal case at the Tumkur JMFC Court in Karnataka for her tweet on farmers protesting the three controversial agricultural bills. She termed the protesters as “terrorists”.

The tweet was posted by Kangana on September 20 following which a case has been lodged under Sections 44, 108, 153, 153A and 504 of IPC.

Kangana tweeted in reaction to another tweet by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the farm bills and the apprehensions surrounding the MSP regime. She said, “Prime Minister, if anyone’s sleeping, they can be woken up, if someone doesn’t understand, they can be explained, but what can be done when someone is acting to be asleep or doesn’t want to understand? These are the same terrorists. Not one citizenship was lost due CAA, but they ended up spilling so much blood.”

The actress compared the agitating farmers and Opposition leaders to terrorists and drew similarity between the farmers’ protests and the anti-CAA protests that rocked the country recently.

After being granted Y-category security to the actress, Kangana and her mother Asha Ranaut profusely thanked Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah and this even led to speculation that either of them would join the BJP, though they have been traditionally Congress supporters.

The Congress too accused the Modi government of supporting those who push its agenda.

In the wake of the drug case in Bollywood under probe, at one instance, Kangana also confessed to being a drug addict at one time following which Maharashtra BJP leader Pravin Darekar she should also be interrogated by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) as she was not above the law.
