Late actress Sridevi had been very choosy about the she films she did in her comeback. After "Mom" (2017), she gave her green signal to only one film, an ambitious production venture of Karan Johar. However, after her sudden demise, reports emerged that Johar, who was very close to Sridevi, decided to shelve the project as he felt she was irreplaceable.
The latest reports however suggest that another stellar former heroine, Madhuri Dixit has been approached to step into the shoes of Sridevi. Johar reportedly thinks that Madhuri is the only actress who can recreate the aura of Sridevi.
Said to be a cross-border period drama set in the India-Pakistan partition era, the film is titled 'Shiddat'. Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha are already on board. Madhuri Dixit is likely to replace Sridevi, who was supposed to play a crucial role.
