Are the pre-release leaks and post-release piracy becoming a common phenomenon for big budget movies? Looks like it is. After the on-location stills, character getups and then the teaser, here comes the latest shock to the fans and makers of Rajinikanth and Shankar's mega budget sci-fi thriller 2.0.
A 2 and a half minute long clip of BBC's exclusive documentary on the making of 2.0 has been leaked online and is going viral on social media. The video clip showcases Shankar's trademark grandeur in sets and costumes and the Hollywood-level visual effects.
2.0 is one of India's first films to be shot using 3D cameras. Some of the world's finest VFX supervisors are working on the movie. In fact, a VFX supervisor goes on to tell in the video that he is having more fun working on 2.0 than the Hollywood films he had worked previously.
2.0 is scheduled to release on November 29. More than 400 crores are being pumped into the making of the movie, making it one of the most expensive movies ever made in India. Fans are anxiously hoping that no further leakages will damage the movie's boxoffice prospects in the coming months.
