AR Murugadoss directorial and Vijay starrer Sarkar is said to be releasing during Diwali and just about two weeks before the release, a hurdle hits the film. Assistant director Varun Rajendran files a complaint against Murugadoss for plagiarism.
The latest news is that the South Indian Film Writers Association has ruled that the story of Sarkar is very similar to the script of Sengol which was penned by Varun Rajendran. Apparently, Varun has registered the script with the Writer's Union in 2007. Hearing for the case is on October 30 in Madras High Court.
Well, it is not the first time that Murugadoss is accused of plagiarism. The acclaimed director faced a similar situation during the release of Kaththi. Aramm fame director Gopi Nainar had acclaimed that the story of Kaththi was his at that time. Sarkar is produced by Sun Pictures and has Vijay, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Keethy Suresh, Radha Ravi and Pala Karupaiah in key roles.
Fans have a lot of expectations on the film as the director and actor paired up for their third collaboration after Thuppaki and Kaththi. It is not yet known whether the film will really hit the screens or a stay would be coming up, asking for an explanation from Murugadoss.
