Gunman Shoots 10 People In Colorado Grocery Market

In a tragic incident, a gunman has killed at least 10 people, including a cop named Eric Talley at a grocery market in Colorado, the western US state. The deceased police officer Talley was reportedly the first to respond to the scene at a King Soopers supermarket in Boulder, near Denver.

The police chief Maris Herold confirmed that there are 10 fatalities at the scene. The suspect, who began shooting around 14.30 local time (20:30 GMT), was shirtless and has been injured. The whole incident was live-streamed by witnesses and broadcast on YouTube.

Only after 20 minutes, the Boulder police tweeted that there was an “Active Shooter at the King Soopers on Table Mesa” street. Another tweet from the police comes up after two hours warning people to avoid the area. “Do NOT broadcast on social media any tactical information you might see,” the tweet added.

The video has cameraman shouting “I don’t know what’s going on… I heard gunshots, someone’s down. There’s an active shooter, getaway”.And as he is seen running away, gunshots can be heard, followed by cops entering the scene. Colorado governor Jared Polis tweeted, “My prayers are with our fellow Coloradans in this time of sadness and grief as we learn more about the extent of the tragedy.” Also, the White House said that President Joe Biden has been briefed about the shooting.
