Tollywood senior director and producer Vijaya Bapineedu has breathed his last on the wee hours of Tuesday at his residence in Hyderabad.
Bapineedi was born on September 22nd, 1936 in Eluru. He studied in the prestigious college, CRR and started his career as a journalist. In the year 1982, Bapineedu made his directorial debut and went on to direct commercial hits like 'Maga Maharaju,' 'Mahanagaramlo Mayagadu' including Chiranjeevi's biggest blockbuster 'Gangleader.' He directed a total of 22 films in Telugu and produced couple of movies as well.
'Kodukulu' was the last film of Bapineedu in the year 1998. He was one of the men behind Chiranjeevi emerging as Megastar. Recently he was seen at Chiru's re-entry film event and expressed his wish to direct the Mega hero once again. But it remained unfulfilled.
May his soul rest in peace.
