Telugu Film Posters: Why Our Producers Are Greedy?

When it comes to giving due credit to upcoming directors, is Tollywood quite greedy? If not total Tollywood, at least the producers are making sure that they will show they are the ones who have upper hand in the hierarchy than a director. A look at the recently released film posters explains this.

Take the posters of recent films like Varun-Venky's F2, Allu Sirish's ABCD and upcoming movie Saaho as well. If you look at the credits list that is printed below the title of the movie, they will first put the name of a producer first, followed by the director. While the likes of Saaho have kept producer Vamsi-Pramod name and director Sujeeth's name in the same line, the producer comes first.

Cut to Bollywood, there many top notch and iconic producers like Karan Johar and T-Series themselves are putting their director's name first and then the producer name. Take a look at the posters of recently released movies like Kalank and De De Pyaar De, where the director's name came first, then the producer's name. Also, the director's name gets a bit highlighted too. Even the posters of upcoming Kabir Singh put the name of Sandeep Reddy Vanga first, rather than rich producers Bhushan Kumar and Co.

While you call director as the captain of the ship, it's better that you give him the due credit where needed. Will Telugu producers ever do that? Let's see.
