Tamil director Thiru Subramanyam is now carving Gopi Chand's "Chanakya" as it is revealed that 50% of the shooting is already done. The makers have released the first look of the film as well and it is looking interesting we have to say.
The big question however in connection with Chanakya is if this film is a remake of Hindi spy film, Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger or not. While the makers remained dead silent about the film's story and this remake stuff, they are giving enough clues that it is a remake.
The first look poster of Gopichand shows that he's somewhere in an Islamic country and he wears a shawl (maybe long scarf) around his neck. This resembles the first ever poster of Ek Tha Tiger, where Salman is seen wearing a keffiyeh around his neck and a gun in hand. So, should we now say that Chanakya is an official remake? Or this is just a spy thriller on similar lines, where every bit of Ek Tha Tiger is taken as an inspiration?
In this age, there is no chance to do a freemake of such super hit movie as legal battles are getting tougher and murkier. Let's see what the makers will say.
