I'll Help Uyyalawada Village, Not His Family - Ram Charan

"I can't bring down the stature of Uyyalawada Narasimhareddy by helping just four members of his family. If I've to really help, then I should help the village of Uyyalawada as a token of respect to the great fighter" said Ram Charan, making his point quite clear.

From some time, the family members of Uyyalawada are actually staging protests in front of Megastar Chiranjeevi's residence in Jubilee Hills. They are demanding financial compensation to the tune of 2 crores as a royalty for letting Ram Charan make a film on Uyyalwada's life. On a couple of occasions, they mentioned that Charan himself agreed to support them.

Talking about the legalities, Charan pointed out, "Anybody can make a film on anyone after 100 years of their death, as that is history. The Supreme Court also gave a ruling when the film Mangal Pandey is being made that even 65 years is enough to make a film on something".

He clarified that their intention is to take the story of Uyyalwada to the world but nothing else. On the sidelines of the trailer launch event, he added that they have spent massive money on this film without thinking about returns.
