Dhoni’s 4th ‘Duck’ In IPL History

Fans had eagerly waited for MS Dhoni to come to bat during the first innings of the second IPL match of the season that was held between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings. Surprisingly, Dhoni batted at number seven in this match and came into the crease in the 16th over. However, his much-awaited innings lasted for only two balls as the former Indian captain dismissed for a duck. This is the fourth time Dhoni was dismissed for a duck in the history of IPL.

Dhoni got bowled by Delhi’s Avesh Khan in today’s match. The three other bowlers who dismissed MSD for a duck in the IPL are Harbhajan Singh (2015), Dirk Nannes (2010), and Shane Watson (2010). Fans were highly disappointed by this flop inning of the star player. They are hoping that MSD will come back stronger in the next match. On the other hand, his haters are trolling him for his poor performance.

CSK had set a target of 189 to Delhi Capitals in yesterday’s match. Delhi chased the total comfortably with the help of the master-class shown by its openers Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw.

Not just as a player but MS Dhoni utterly failed as a captain to restrict the rival team from chasing the target. Poor decisions and poor execution of his strategies cost him the match. Thus, CSK had started off its 2021 campaign with a defeat. Hope, CSK bounces back in the next match!
