Harbhajan Singh waited 699 days; but bowled only one over

Harbhajan Singh is one of the top cricketers in India. He made his IPL debut with Mumbai Indians and later changed multiple times. After Chennai Super Kings released him last year, Kolkata Knight Riders bagged him for a decent price. The star cricketer made his debut with KKR on Sunday against Sun Risers Hyderabad. However, his fans are disappointed to see him bowling only one over. The match went on till the final ball but Bhajji has bowled only one of the 20 overs.

The commentators also expressed a surprise over team KKR not using Harbhajan’s experience. However, KKR captain Eon Morgan seemed to have followed a strategy. Since David Warner is a left-handed batsman, Morgan introduced Harbhajan in the first over of the match. Bhajji bowled almost after 699 days in yesterday’s match and impressed with his skill. Later, Warner was dismissed in the second over because of which Bhajji has been restricted only to fielding.

Since Bhajji is an off-spinner, the team did not want to use him against the right-handed batsmen who can play spin well. But, it is a surprise to see Harbhajan not receiving a call again to bowl his next.

In the end, KKR won the match so there is no critical comment on not utilizing Harbhajan’s experience as a bowler and captain. Harbhajan gave 8 runs in the single over he bowled.
