Buzz: AB De Villiers To Return To International cricket?

The red-hot form of AB de Villiers makes you wonder why he retired from international cricket so early. de Villiers bid adieu to all forms of international cricket in 2018. However, he continued to play in the domestic T20 leagues. Now, the star batsman hinted at his return to the international arena and confirmed that he will represent South Africa if given a chance.

de Villiers is currently playing for RCB in the IPL. He scored 125 runs in the three matches he played. RCB won two out of three games because of de Villiers. Popular commentator Harsha Bhogle tweeted, “Surely South Africa, you have to find a way to play @ABdeVilliers17 in the #T20WorldCup. Surely.” Noted stand-up comedian Sorabh Pant tweeted, “Every time you see AB de Villiers bat – you have to wonder why South Africa has not done everything in their power to have him play every single match they can.” Many fans opined the same thing on social media.

In the post-match press conference, de Villiers was asked about his plans of representing South Africa once again. Speaking about it, de Villiers said that it would be amazing to play for South Africa once again. He said he will have a chat with South African cricket coach Mark Boucher very soon and talk about the possible chances of returning to international cricket. de Villiers confirmed that he will play if he is fit and there is a slot for him in the squad.
