One Hit And One Flop Could Change Everything

One Hit And One Flop Could Change Everything

If the first film of a debutante is a super hit, then that hero or director or heroine would get terrific opportunities in Tollywood. But if their second film ends up as a disaster, then the very same guys will not find it very tough to get next chance. That's how reality works here.

Other day, director Prashant Varma of 'Awe' movie fame has tweeted that he is trying very much to find a producer for 'Awe 2' but not able to do so. He says that the script has crazy elements but he is finding it tough to find an equally crazy producer who could fund it. In fact, this is a post made by him with an indirect announcement that he is in need of a producer.

Actually Varma's debut film got critical acclaim and a hit status, but the producer of the film, hero Nani, hasn't made profits over the project. And then, his second movie Kalki got him 1 crore remuneration, but the film is a disaster of epic proportions.

Same is the case with the likes of Tarun Bhaskar (Pellichoopulu), Virinchi Varma (Uyyala Jampala), Merlapaka Gandhi (Venkatadri Express) and a couple of other directors whose first film turned up blockbuster but second and third films went for a toss. They are finding it tough to find a hero for their next.
