After Saaho & Agnyathavaasi, Largo Winch Gets ‘Official Remake’ In Hindi

Telugu audiences are familiar with the French movie Largo Winch. Largo Winch is a 2008 French action thriller film based on the Belgian comic book of the same name. Jerome Salle is the film’s director. During the release time of Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyathavaasi, the French film became a trending topic on social media. Apparently, Agnyathavaasi is a Freemake of Largo Winch, and the director of the original made a fuss about the same back then. Jerome even watched the film and found out that the plot was similar to his movie. However, the film is now having an official adaption in India, in Bollywood.

Going by the current reports, filmmaker Neeraj Pandey and Reliance Entertainment are collaborating to produce a film featuring Vidyut Jammwal in the lead role. Rustom fame, Tinu Suresh Desai is the director. It is the official remake of Largo Winch. T-Series actually have the film’s remake rights and they reportedly sent a legal notice to the makers of Agnyathavaasi.

Back in 2018, the director Jerome watched Agnyathavaasi but did not like it. After watching the film, the director wrote, “Screening at #LeBrady tonight. Great atmosphere thanks to the audience. I could’ve loved the movie but unfortunately, the plot was too familiar. #LargoWinch #Agnyaathavaasi.”

Later, he posted another series of tweets where he confirmed opting to take legal action on the makers of Agnyathavaasi.

After Saaho released, people compared the story to Largo Winch and took it to the notice of director Jerome Salle. He tweeted, “It seems this second “Freemake” of Largo Winch is as bad as the first one. So please Telugu directors, if you steal my work, at least do it properly? And as my ‘Indian career’ tweet was of course ironic, I’m sorry but I’m not gonna be able to help.”

T-Series reportedly sent a legal notice to the makers of Agnyathavaasi but what happened after that remains unknown. There is no clarity on how the issue met a closure. Now, after almost four years, the film is back in news, and this time, for the official remake.
