India Lock Down Extended Till May 3 – Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mangal Message garners huge significance as the first lockdown of 21 days ends today. He has addressed the nation as India’s Covid-19 positive cases cross 10,000 mark with over 300 deaths.

In this crucial hour, PM has announced the extension of nation lockdown till May 3rd. He asked people to be disciplined like how they were during the 21-day lockdown.

Modi said the next one week the lockdown would be enforced even more strongly and asked people to cooperate as the Corona Virus cases are soaring up. He asked the respective state governments to look carefully at potential areas which could turn into hotspot.

Giving a minor relief, Modi said some relaxations in some areas could be applicable considering the prevailing situation post April 20.

However, he cautioned that any area which would misuse the relaxation and turns back, he said curbs would be reintroduced. He asked people to act accordingly and take necessary precautionary measures to stop the Corona chain.
