International Recognition for a Telugu film!

Even before its release, upcoming Telugu film Na Bangaru Talli has bagged international accolades. The film has been chosen as the best film at Trinity International Film Festival and this is the first Telugu film to get such recognition after 23 years.

Tipped to be a social drama based on human trafficking, the movie stars Anjali Patik and Siddhik in the lead roles. Directed by Rajesh Touchriver, of In the name of Buddha fame, the movie is likely to be released soon.

"I took an instance that happened in Rajahmundry, of a girl who was sold. It struck me as a relevant subject because if you open a newspaper today, you will see at least half a page of cases of violence against women. These issues need to be discussed," Rajesh says.

But the important task was to make the movie a family entertainer with commercial elements. He adds, "I want the whole family to sit and watch the film together. There is no nudity or obscenity involved while we were true to the story."

For people who has been crying over that Telugu films are not on par with national and international standards, the best answer is the Na Bangaru Talli.
