Hyd On High Alert, NDRF, Army force arrives

With no respite form the torrential rains battered the T state particularly Hyderabad, Army and NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) forces arrived the city to take part in the relief operations to rescue the people stranded in flood waters in many localities.

The forces immediately plunged into action to evacuate people stuck in their marooned residential areas in Alwal, Begumpet, Nizampet and Hakimpet. They were also supplying food packets, milk and emergency medicine. The resuce teams equipped with boats are visiting the submerged areas and shifted people to safer areas.

On the instructions of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, GHMC authorities and other department officials are extending cooperation to the forces in the rescue operations. If required, more forces will be pressed into service in the drenched city for the last one week.
